School Board Progress Reports

Progress in Credit Accumulation by the End of Grade 11

The 'Progress in Earning 23 or More Credits by the End of Grade 11' indicator is the percentage point increase or decrease since June of 2020 of students who accumulated 23 or more credits after three years of secondary school out of the total number of students who completed three years of secondary school.

Students taking English as a second language programs, English literacy development courses and special needs programs are included in the indicator calculation.

Research shows that the successful completion of 23 credits by the end of Grade 11 keeps students on track to graduate with their peers.

School boards annually report the number of students who finished Grade 11 and how many of them earned 23 or more credits during their Grade 9, 10, and 11 school years. Credits are counted if they are part of the student's transcript at the end of June. Courses taken at summer school or that conclude after June 30 are counted in the following year.
